How to Write a Resume in Switzerland?

A resume format and layout should be selected according to job requirements. The resume structure depends on the person and the demographics he is going to apply to. Following are some of the important points that should be kept in mind while writing a resume in Switzerland.

Personal information In the Header

It must include the name of the person with his current professional designation under it. Opposite to this, write a piece of active and working contact information where the employer can contact the person like a working telephone number, an email address and a professional social account like indeed or LinkedIn. Never include bank details or personal information In this section. Keep in mind while selecting the language, candidates can not change the mode of language in the middle of the resume.

Introductory summary

An introductory summary is the first portion of the resume that should not be more than 2 to 3 lines. This summary elaborates on the role of the person in the previous job. The goals and reasons for applying to the current job opportunity must be mentioned. In short, what value can a person bring to his new job if he is given a chance? The summary will not be general, it will be tailored exactly according to the requirements of the job.

Work experience

The work experience is the second part of the resume. It is mentioned in the orderliness of the last experience written in the first. The roles specifically relevant to the current vacancy performed at the job are written in bullet format. It is better recommended to write about a relevant experience first whether it was the second last job of the person.

Education

The third part of the resume consists of the qualification of the person. In this section give details about the qualification in order where the latest degree will be written first. List down the subject you specialized in and the major subjects relevant to the job. Mention the name of the university under the qualification with the completion year. Be clear and considerate while listing down the qualification and avoid writing anything other than true.

Skills, Awards and Abilities

They are written in the fourth and last section of the resume. Never confuse skills with abilities. Being able to speak more than one language is counted as a skill, and being a quick learner is an ability. Mention the awards a person received for completing milestones at work. Never mention any of these in lengthy paragraphs. Always list it down in bullets. A hiring manager is not interested in your hobbies like you love gardening or love collecting stamps. Avoid adding irrelevant information in this section.

Mention References

It is preferred in Switzerland to mention at least three or four references in the last references section of a resume. A candidate is required to give details of those references so that if the employer wants to confirm or investigate anything it might be easy for the employer to do so. State words to the point and avoid verbosity or riddles while writing the reference.
